Feb. 13: Gelli Plate Love!

$65.00

Workshop with Print House Founder, Denise Markbreit
February 13, 2026 | 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Class tuition includes all materials

Grab your honey, BFF, or kiddo and join Denise for a playful two-hour introduction to Gelli plate mono printing at Print House. Gelli plates are amazing silicon marvels that allow artists and crafters to create prints without a press using acrylic paint or traditional printmaking ink. You will learn how to layer color, use simple stencils and a basic registration system to keep your prints crisp! The theme is love but anything goes during this learning session!

Designed as an accessible entry point into monoprinting, this class is ideal for beginners and anyone curious about intuitive, low-pressure printmaking. With its emphasis on experimentation and surprise, it also makes a perfect creative Valentine’s experience for couples or friends looking to share an evening of making together.

Interested in going further? A two-day deep dive covering the full technical range of Gelli plate printing will follow on March 14-15, 2026.

DENISE MARKBREIT

PRINTMAKER and FOUNDER / OWNER of Print House

Denise discovered Akua ink - a soy based, safer printmaking solution while at an artists’ retreat. It was a game changer for her printmaking practices. Delving into safer techniques, without solvents or chemicals, opened up a world of eco-friendly printmaking possibilities including Mokuhanga, Mokulito, Mixed Media printing and Solar Plate print matrixes. Denise has been hooked on green printmaking ever since!

In addition to her pursuit of printed fine art images, Denise creates hand printed home accessories, and print based mixed media images and sculptures. Denise also teaches printmaking classes and workshops.

In 2018 Denise founded the Asheville Print Studio + Gallery. After the devastation of Helene in 2024 she founded Print House with fellow printmaker, Anna Bryant, in 2025. Denise holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and an MST from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Her fine art prints have been exhibited in numerous galleries and institutions across the country and reside in art collections worldwide.
